What have I learned about geography so far?

I have learned that geography can be divided into human geography and physical geography. The word geography comes from the greek word “gaea” which means earth and graphein meaning to describe. Human geography is a study of human including culture and religion etc. Physical Geography focuses on the study of earth and the world. It aims to learn the physical features of earth.

Wars robbing youths of school

What is the issue?

• The issue is that wars are forcing children to have improper education.

Who is involved?

• The armed groups and educational aids are involved as armed groups block educational aids from educating the children as most educational aids are being captured by war conflicts.

Who is affected and how?

• Children and countries without properly educated people are affected, as children are not getting the education they are supposed to have and the countries that have poorly educated children are having bad war conflicts

What would you do if you were directly involved?

• I would probably first make shelter that children can stay in as safety is important and I would probably get donations from people to get the educational aids

My Vacation to Thailand

I went to Thailand during my holidays. I went to the Grand Palace which was mostly made out of gold. I stayed in Bangok for two days and Pattaya for three days I enjoyed Pattaya more than Bangok because Bangok was scorching hot while in Pattaya we even did paragliding and jet skiing. It was a enjoyable week

Homework for Block E (Tuesday 6 September)

The URL for this assignment is: http://mkis6.edublogs.org/2006/09/06/homework-for-block-e-tuesday-6-september/

The link for the article I read is: http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/newsid_5310000/newsid_5316900/5316952.stm

Kids are being hurt by cluster bombs. Cluster bombs release lots of smaller bombs when they blow up. Not all of these explode straight away, and it can be a long time before they are found. That means kids could pick them up without knowing what they are. Over the past years, peace organizations such as the United Nations and other countries have asked for the ban of cluster bombs as anyone can just pick them up and think of it as nothing.

Who is affected and how?

Harmless children and peace organizations are being affected because childrens are getting hurt and that might lead to another world war. That will affect the peace organizations as they would need to have a hard time making peace. Also, citizens will be affected as there would be hundreds and thousands of harmless people dying.

Classwork for Block E (Tuesday 6 September)

The URL for this assignment is: http://mkis6.edublogs.org/2006/09/06/classwork-for-block-e-tuesday-6-september/

The question of my assignment was:

a. Find another article about the same event and describe what new information has emerged.

It is said that United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan was trying to make a deal with releasing Hezbollah and Israeli prisoners. The result was unclear however, there could be a possibility of the release of the prisoners. But in past cases, Israel has released prisoners in exchange for captives and, in a deal with Hezbollah in 2004, for the return of the bodies of soldiers killed in battle. And Hezbollah has made clear from the start that it was interested in swapping prisoners.

a. What did you find interesting about this topic?

I found that all the wars started because of a social reason and I think that Hezbollah has definetly done the wrong thing. If Hezbollah didn’t buy weapons from other countries, then Israel wouldn’t have attacked Southern Lebanon.

b. What did you like about the initial blog posting?

I liked the way other people can look at what I would like to write. I also liked the part where I could comment others because it feels good reading someones story and saying something about the blog in computers

The URL for this page I got the information is: http://www.nytimes.com/learning/students/pop/articles/05nations.html
